My research interests are in macroecology and macroevolution. My PhD research used approaches from both evolutionary biology and ecology to test the influence of habitat type, dispersal and interspecific competition on species coexistence in South American birds. In the Jetz lab my research is on phylogenetic niche conservatism in vertebrates. I am also part of a Future Earth cluster on the development and applications of global biodiversity monitoring systems.
