Melodie McGeoch and Walter Jetz published a Commentary in Cell’s new journal ‘One Earth’ calling for an improved approach to biodiversity targets on invasive species. Invasions by alien species are causing tremendous harm to biodiversity and human well-being. As the Convention on Biological Diversity discussions of new biodiversity targets are underway, Melodie and Walter call for targets that are closely linked to indicators and informed by the scientific tools to measure species invasions and their impact.
